Vanilla Morrowind is so easy that it doesnt really matter what you do. But if you play the hardcore mod, you have to take the best skills to make the most powerful character possible. Class & Birthsign: Magic has become extremely important. You need a lot of magicka, to defend yourself. Enemies do little magic damage, but insanely high physical. Recommended Character Mods? Morrowind’s default character models are garbage. Any suggestions for mods? I generally like the way MGSO made characters look. (I hate MGSO, but I’d love to know what body and head mods it uses). Creating your character is the most important decision you must make during the opening sequence in Seyda Neen, as it affects the entire game. THE LONE PRIVATEER
A member of the East Empire Company (or EEC), the Lone Privateer is, at heart, a pirate. Using a selection of mods and the DLCs, playing this build was no doubt the most fun that I’ve ever had in Morrowind.
Race: Breton/Imperial. I personally went with Breton, but Imperials do make good alternatives.
Armour: Extravagant Shirt, Extravagant Pants, Netch Leather Boots, Netch Leather Gauntlets, Netch Leather Greaves, Templar Pauldrons, Runic Parrying Katana. This makes for a nice aesthetic armour combo while also providing decent protection.
This mod is an overhaul of Vos and Tel Vos, the land surrounding them, the two nearby egg mines, covering a large portion of the northern Grazelands. Currently, the mod does not cover the entire Grazelands region, but additional work is planned in future updates. The mod includes 16+ new quests with approximately 18,000 words of dialogue.
Weapons: Runic Katana, Steel Crossbow, Silver Bolts
Class Name: Privateer
Specialization: Combat
Fav. Attributes: Personality, Strength
Major Skills: Longblade, Light Armour, Athletics, Speechcraft, Marksman.
Minor Skills: Acrobatics, Shortblade, Unarmoured, Mercantile, Alchemy.
Quests: East Empire Company - The EEC is perhaps the most important questline for the Lone Privateer. This questline should be your main priority (after getting your ship, of course). Siding with Carnius makes for some nice roleplay, but there’s nothing wrong with doing Falco’s side instead.
House Hlaalu - House Hlaalu has traditionally been on good grounds with the Empire, and they are pretty much the Dunmeri version of the EEC.
Fighters’/Thieves’ Guild - Due to a small conflict with doing both, you’ll have to decide which one to do. I played this twice (once for each faction) and found no problem on either side. Personally I preffered the Thieves’ Guild, but this mainly comes down to personal preference.
Gameplay: Use your Crossbow to take out slower enemies ar range. Staying on your ship would be recomended, as they cannot climb on board. Using Silver Bolts means that you’ll also be able to inflict damage to ghosts and other creatures that resist normal weapons without having to switch to a different weapon. For any faster enemies you should just stick with your swords. Leveling up block early on is also recomended to maximize the potential of your Parrying Katana. To get both swords head over to the Balmora Fighters Guild, where they can be found just at the bottom of the stairs leading to the upper area.
Roleplay: Siding with Carnius during the EEC questline is quite fitting. I’d suggest building your Factor’s Estate in the area closest to the water, so you can get to your ship quicker. If you ever see a shipwreck while sailing the seas, stop by and investigate. There could be some lost treasure or secret. The occasional raid is essential, but remember that you essentially work for the Empire, so no raiding Ebonheart or Wolverine Hall! If you like, roleplaying as a bit of an alcoholic could be fun, and deffinently suits the character.
Mods:Fishing Academy: An excellent mod that allows you to own both a small boat and a large ship, both of which can be sailed around! Emergency software recovery and initialization download free.
Dual Wield Mod: A rather nice mod that allows you to dual wield a few new weapons!
Adanumuran Reclaimed: A great mod that allows you to turn Adanumuran into a smuggling cave!
